Connections is simply explained.

It’s where we take a creative thought, a business or product and introduce it to another for the benefit of both.

Sometimes these connections are not obvious but when they get together a bit of magic happens.

That’s what we do - connections.

For you

Who's Glyph?

Having worked across the globe in many different sectors of Industry and commerce before emigrating to NZ in 2015, Ewan often linked businesses together for the greater good of both. Having worked for a large NZ agency for 6 years, Ewan saw a niche in the market having built a large network in NZ during this time. He felt these same skills gained globally could work here in New Zealand and clients could benefit from these connections and his advertising knowledge, business acumen and creative thinking.

Ewan Warrender

Ewan Has worked across international brands in sectors from fashion to tourism to automotive. He has brokered mutually beneficial relationships between many of them that have lasted to this day.

A little more about Ewan

Ewan was born in Scotland and educated in London, England.

Having worked for some of the world’s best known advertising agencies in London, managing global accounts for some 35+ years Ewan moved to New Zealand with his Kiwi wife and daughter in 2015. On arriving, he joined Clemenger BBDO Group at their Wellington office in September 2015, only recently leaving to form Glyph Advertising and Communications.

Ewan’s philanthropic work includes fundraising and support for leadership teams at the UK Poppy Factory, the UK Household Cavalry Fund for injured soldiers, where he helped raise $5m and in 2022 was appointed Chair of the Reduce, Reuse & Recycle charity “Be a Tidy Kiwi”.

Be A Tidy Kiwi “Band Together” Campaign

Brief: Be a Tidy Kiwi were to distribute colour coded bins throughout Aotearoa from funding raised by the Packaging Forum. The public were encouraged to separate their waste, recycling, glass and in some cases compost/food waste and Be Tidy Kiwi’s.

Result: A TVC was produced, asking Kiwi’s to “band together” featuring the then Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and various celebrities from TV and sport, along with a simple educational online game for kids to select the correct bin to drop their rubbish into. Be a Tidy Kiwi’s brand recognition peaked at 92% while the campaign ran, and it still stands at 76% in 2023.

The Bahamas Campaign

The brief: Define the core essence of the Islands of the Bahamas brand. Engage new customers and re-engage lapsed customers.

Result: Improved customer relations and generate new customers to increase the value of tourism in the Bahamas. Three destinations, one core promise for the promotion boards of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.

Issigonis House, Ealing

Brief: To promote and market 200 apartments for Shepherd’s Bush Housing Association on the busy Uxbridge Road in Ealing, London. The renovated property was where the original Mini car was designed. The apartments were being offered at 25% of the asking price “part buy, part rent”.

Result: From in-depth research, the property was named “Issigonis House” after the Mini’s designer. The parallel between the apartments and the original Mini car was due to its compact and yet surprisingly roomy size. This campaign needed speed and agility, with ad-walkers handing out leaflets at local tube stations and at the nearby Westfield shopping centre, along with Outdoor and Radio ads. All 200 apartments were sold within the desired 6 months.
